 Editorial : The President's Letter

"Camembert de Normandie" is today more than a simple cheese : it has become throughout its rich history a symbol of French gastronomy.

For more than two centuries, the "Camembert de Normandie" has been dwelling in the popular imagination and is part of the French patrimony.

The right to use the AOC Label of Origin which was obtained in 1983 made it possible to limit its manufacturing to its original geographic area (the five Norman departments), and to continue the raw milk and the ladle moulding traditions. All these characteristics which kept its historical roots alive, as well as many other manufacturing features, make this cheese a rich product full of incomparable flavours.

The Union for the protection of the AOC label is grouping all milk and cheese professionals, and its aim is to defend this specificity and to keep this tradition alive. We are proud to help the Norman cheesemakers who gave our camembert its prestige.

In order to allow our faithful consumers to continue to benefit from the respect of these traditions, we ourselves carry out quality controls on the products marketed in the addition to the official ones.

The AOC "Camembert de Normandie" has been able to maintain its quality and you will note it for yourself by tasting our products. Powerful on the palate, woody, fruity, tender, smoth: such are its qualities.
