1789 : Construction of a wheat mill.
Beginning of the XIXth century : the mill is transformed so that it becomes an oilmill.
1883 : the mill is changed into a dairy, called " Bessard du Parcet Cie: Cheesemakers ".
1888 / 1891 : First use of the round label and the woodbox ,which have contributed to the national development of the Camembert at the beginning of the Century . The first brand , still produced nowadays, was called " Jort - Corneville ".
1918 : The dairy Bernières - Jort joins the group of the " Fermiers Normands " chaired by Mr Vignioboul.
1952 : Mr Gondouin , the manager of Bernières - Jort goes to found another dairy called " Le Moulin de Carel ".
1954 : Mr Leboucher joins Bernières - Jort as the new manager. In the following years, the production of AOC Camemberts is completed by a production of pasteurized Camemberts and Coulommiers.
1995 : Acquisition of the dairy by Vallée SA . The manufacturing of pasteurized Camemberts moves to the head office in Clécy (Calvados).
1997 : The group Besnier acquires Vallée SA.
January 1999 : the plant is conform to european norms.
